The European Football Association (UEFA) announced today that it has started disciplinary measures against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus for their attempt to launch the Super League.
Reuters quoted the federation as saying in a statement: "After the investigation supervised by the Values and Discipline Committee and inspectors in what is known as the Super League project, disciplinary measures have begun against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus due to a possible violation of the legal framework of UEFA."
The start of the Super League was announced, led by 12 founding clubs, but nine clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid decided to withdraw after reaching an agreement with UEFA.
