Eintracht Frankfurt has found a successor for Adi Hütter: Oliver Glasner will train the Bundesliga club from the coming season.
Both clubs confirm this in a statement.
Glasner receives a three-year contract in Frankfurt.
Glasner, 46, last worked for VfL Wolfsburg, last season he led the club into the Champions League.
Despite the success, his relationship with sports director Jörg Schmadtke was considered tense, and there had been speculations about Glasner's departure at the end of the season for months.
In the summer of 2019, Glasner came from Linz ASK from Austria to the German league.
"In our situation with a high staff turnover around the team, we deliberately relied on a coach with experience from the Bundesliga and international competition," said Axel Hellmann, CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG.
Frankfurt's previous coach Hütter is moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he will take over from Marco Rose (future Borussia Dortmund).
Sports director Fredi Bobic is also leaving the club for Hertha BSC.
Frankfurt was on the Champions League course for a long time, after Hütter said goodbye, Eintracht fell out of the ranks for the premier class and came in fifth.
In the coming season she is qualified for the Europa League.
Van Bommel trainer candidate in Wolfsburg
For the Wolfsburgers, the former Bayern professional Mark van Bommel is now the favorite to succeed Glasner.
He coached the Dutch top club PSV Eindhoven until December 2019.
Glasner's contract with VfL originally ran until 2022. However, reports of an exit clause, the 46-year-old's lack of commitment to staying and an apparently strained relationship with Schmadtke have made a very successful sporting collaboration more and more difficult.
Glasner says about his new club: "The emotionality in the city and the region around Eintracht is great and internationally known, not least after the great performances in the Europa League in recent years." Eintracht pays a transfer fee for the new coach .
Both clubs agreed not to disclose the amount.
In his first Bundesliga season 2019/2020, Glasner confirmed the success of his predecessor Bruno Labbadia and again led VfL to a Europa League place.
The elimination in the two playoff games against AEK Athens was the biggest sporting setback of his time in Wolfsburg.
