Rudi Garcia: Stormy endings of adventures

2021-05-27T15:28:31.079Z

Rudi Garcia left his position as OL coach with losses and noise after his inflammatory statements about Lyon management. A turbulent start which is not a first for Garcia.

Fourth in Ligue 1 after the defeat against Nice (2-3) at Groupama Stadium on the final day, Lyon will not see the Champions League next year.

Already announced for several weeks, Rudi Garcia confirmed his departure from the club on the evening of the 38th day of Ligue 1. A sporting failure and a departure from the club that could have been done properly but Rudi Garcia, visibly recovered, knocked out the management of OL in the columns of the Team.

Once again, between Rudi Garcia and his former clubs, the end is not happy.

Everything started to not work when he lacked consistency on your part !!!

Adulated at Le Mans and Lille

Coach of Le Mans (2007-2008) and Lille (2008-2013), Rudi Garcia left very good memories in these two clubs.

It was in the north that Garcia gained his fame.

Champion of France and winner of the Coupe de France, he left LOSC in 2013 with the love of supporters and respect for leaders.

First tensions in Rome

Arrived in Italy, at Roma, Rudi Garcia puts Roma back on the front of the transalpine football scene, without winning a title.

However, as Marco Giordana, journalist for Il Mattino, reported with our colleagues at Foot Mercato in 2020: “Rudi Garcia was a 'double-sided' coach.

There were more complicated times when he didn't necessarily show the necessary leadership qualities.

He did not know how to fully conquer the environment of Roma and did not know how to give the best of himself ”.

It is in Italy that the reputation of a coach who does not assume his failures and always quick to criticize the refereeing to start sticking to Garcia's skin.

Marseille and Lyon: unhappy endings

If the beginning of the story between Garcia and OM suddenly fell in love with commendable results and a Europa League final, love quickly turned into hatred. Sawtooth results, dubious communication got the better of Rudi Garcia at OM. Dimitiri Payet had even declared that he and Garcia had not left on good terms, when the coach left in May 2019.

Arrived in Lyon in November 2019, Rudi Garcia failed to qualify Lyon for the Champions League despite a high quality workforce.

Garcia therefore left OL without having fulfilled the club's objectives.

Visibly recovered, Rudi Garcia spoke on Tuesday to our colleagues in the team.

In this interview, the now former OL coach openly criticized the club and management, including Juninho.

Words that Jean-Michel Aulas did not fail to comment on on Twitter.

Too bad Rudi did not know how to work with Juni who had nevertheless chosen and accompanied him.

Juni has our full support.

What a bad apology from Rudi!

With the last two sawtooth experiences and hazardous communication, Rudi Garcia's rating seems to have taken a hit while the latter seems to be looking for a new challenge.
