Italy's master coach Antonio Conte leaves Inter Milan.

The club announced.

With the 51-year-old, an agreement on the end of his contract had been made by mutual consent, the message said.

Inter, plagued by financial worries, needs to save money.

According to media reports, Conte did not want to participate.

With the Nerazzuri in Serie A, Conte replaced Juventus with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after nine years.

The team around the Belgian top scorer Romelu Lukaku was already the champions after 34 of 38 match days.

After the last matchday of the season last weekend, Inter received the Scudetto.

Conte had only come to Internazionale as a trainer in 2019.

He should now receive a severance payment.

According to the "Gazzetta dello Sport", it should be around half of his earnings, which were planned for the third year of his contract, which is actually valid until 2022.

After Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri, who became champions with Juventus in 2019 and 2020, Conte is the third championship coach in Serie A in a row who will no longer look after the title holder in the following season.

Conte is said to have called for investments

As the "Gazzetta dello Sport" reported, Conte saw his goals with the club endangered because the club management wanted to sell several stars because of the horrendous debts.

Conte had demanded investments from the Chinese club boss Steven Zhang for the coming season in the Champions League, but the boss of the industrial giant Suning rejected them, the report said.

Due to financial bottlenecks at Suning in the wake of the corona crisis, the Chinese top club Jiangsu FC had already stopped playing in March.

The club belonged to the group, but was sold because the group said it wanted to focus on its retail business.
