After the departure of David Alaba and Jérôme Boateng, FC Bayern Munich has announced its second new signing for the upcoming season.
Omar Richards is a free transfer from the English second division FC Reading and has signed a contract until 2025.
»Omar is a technically fine player for the left defensive.
He finds good solutions in the game forward, he is very attentive and we trust him to play a good role for our team, «said sports director Hasan Salihamidžić.
Richards has played 92 second division games (two goals).
On the left defense of the Munich team, he is intended to replace Alphonso Davies.
Bayern's Lucas Hernández, who also played a few left-back positions last season, is therefore more likely to be in the center.
Dayot Upamecano, who received a contract until 2026, will also play there.
The Frenchman moved from RB Leipzig to Munich for the transfer fee of 42.5 million euros.
