Türkgücü Munich has had a turbulent first year in professional football after being promoted to the third division.

Managing director Max Kothny draws a conclusion.

Munich - A veteran is leaving Türkgücü Munich *.

After four years at the club, co-trainer Andreas Pummer will not extend his contract to “take on a new challenge”.

Ex-Lion Kilian Fischer will also no longer play for the ambitious third division team in the future and will join 1. FC Nürnberg.

Türkgücü's managing director Max Kothny draws his conclusions about the season in our newspaper and looks ahead to the coming season.

Mr. Kothny, what is your conclusion about the season, what grade is there now for Türkgücü?

If I look at the whole season in all its facets, including the fact that we were able to play in the third division at all, I would give it a two.

The sporting success ranged from one to five.

I think we can agree on a three as the mean.

What has happened on the pitch in the past few weeks then turned more towards five.

Definitely.

We have been an ambitious club for years.

The way we presented ourselves on the pitch had nothing to do with Türkgücü's philosophy of play.

But when you look at the fact that Bayern II has been relegated as champions and we are in front of clubs like MSV Duisburg or 1. FC Kaiserslautern, that puts a lot into perspective.

We learned: this 3rd division is absolutely crazy.

It takes an enormous number of components to be successful and to play along at the top.

Max Kothny on the separation from Alexander Schmidt: "Wanted to use it to settle internal unrest"

Can you ascribe the negative trend of the past weeks and months to yourself?

Alexander Schmidt's expulsion, Serdar Dayat's farce ...

When separating from Alexander Schmidt, there were many factors that might not have been noticed from the outside at first. This also includes internal unrest, which we wanted to settle with it, the change of coach was basically not a wrong decision. Unfortunately, Serdar Dayat didn't go well. He also came up to me and the President and complained of persistent complaints. We have included these in the termination agreement. That he denied the complaints in retrospect is madness. But: I don't want to kick it too much. We have learned a lot for the coming season. Some situations could have been resolved differently. Fewer quick decisions, more well-thought-out decisions, more calm in the club - but all of this without becoming irrelevant. We stand for something and sometimes polarize.

You have announced “tough” decisions based on your performance over the past few weeks.

Who else has to go?

Some players have already signed their contract extensions.

An intensive analysis of the squad will take place next week.

Then it will be decided which players will leave the club and which contracts will be extended.

Rumors about President Hasan Kivran?

"What is put into it is madness"

The squad needs to be strengthened.

After all the fuss about the club, who is still interested in switching to Türkgücü?

First of all, the league membership makes us interesting.

Then with Petr Ruman we have a coach who can inspire players.

Perhaps one or the other, who only looks at us from the outside, thinks that there is chaos here.

In negotiations with potential newcomers, however, we don't notice that at all.

We have high goals, that makes us attractive.

Anyone who cannot deal with the ambitious goals is out of place with us anyway.

Have you recommended to Petr Ruman that he leave his cell phone off while playing?

(laughs) What is being put into it is partly insane.

Hasan Kivran is a thoroughbred football fan.

The fact that the president calls the coach during the game is a vague assertion, however.

In any case, Ruman will have his cell phone off and will concentrate fully on the game week after week.

The first test for the new coach will be the Totopokal.

You are not satisfied with the schedule for June 19th.

The appointment is most unfortunate.

I have the feeling that they are trying to make our way to the DFB Cup much more difficult.

Players who came to us after 30.06.

left, still have to play in the cup.

Our newcomers, however, are not yet eligible to play.

The association could have drawn up a different model.

On Saturday, 13 national associations will play their cup final and keep to the schedule.

President Hasan Kivran stays with Türkgücü Munich

At the general meeting a few weeks ago, a possible change in legal form to a partnership limited by shares was approved.

A sign that more investors should participate in Türkgücü in the future?

The GmbH model is too rigid.

The conversion of a professional club is not that simple, however, there are currently a lot of things to be clarified.

Basically, however, it is our goal that we want to get away from the dependency, from the one-man show, as the media likes to portray it.

At the same time, we are opening up to potential external investors.

Is that also a signal that Hasan Kivran will stay with Türkgücü for a longer period of time?

Hasan Kivran puts so much time and money into the club.

What is the point of the captain leaving the ship now?

This is not his way of being a businessman and a football lover.

How do you look back personally on the past few months?

I have grown a lot more mature.

There were so many special situations this season due to the corona pandemic.

It was a hard and good school.

I've made mistakes, I'm self-critical and I stand by my man.

But I also know that we have developed enormously as a club.

One thing is certain, it should not have been the last season in professional football.
