It is fashionable to change the logo. In recent seasons, certain historic formations of the French championship have been revisiting their coat of arms in order to adapt a little better to the new graphic standards of the time. LOSC in 2018, FC Nantes in 2019, Girondins de Bordeaux and Stade de Reims in summer 2020 and very recently, Angers SCO which unveiled its new identity a few days ago. It was therefore the turn of FC Metz on Thursday to unveil the new badge that will be stamped on the players' shirts, close to the heart.
If simplicity seems to be the key word in recent years in terms of design, the Messins have respected this trend very well… Perhaps too much.
Exit the Graoully dragon, present on the Moselle logo since 1966 and figure of the city of Metz, there remains only a revisited cross of Lorraine.
A sleek design, too bland in the eyes of club supporters.
The latter did not deprive themselves on social networks, in particular Twitter, to express their dissatisfaction.
Where are you hiding little Graoully?
I returned my phone but still not the right one we are still friends anyway @FCMetzhttps: //t.co/B68btdgFMb

How much did you pay the guy who made you that rotten logo ??
It is the same one who created that of Nantes ??

Ah to be uncluttered, it's very uncluttered.
The Lorraine cross is ok, but I find that the disappearance of Graoully is extremely damaging.
