Golf, the big winner of the health crisis

2021-05-30T08:03:08.066Z

The discipline has seen renewed interest in recent months. Explanations.

Golf has succeeded in its deconfinement in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. And this for several months already. If the period has been terrible for indoor sports, the followers of the little white ball are, conversely, more and more numerous since the beginning of the health crisis. It is, it is true, one of the few sports that the French have been able to practice despite the restrictions linked to the pandemic. Closed during the first two confinements, the courses in France remained open during the third, mid-March, even in the red zones. If the successive confinements of 2020 had led to a 21.6% drop in the turnover of golf courses in Ile-de-France, and by 20% on average throughout the territory, lovers of this sport and new converts have made up for lost time.

Despite the closure of our golf courses for three months in 2020, we see an increase of 5 to 10% of licensees compared to 2019 where we had already made 4% compared to 2018,
