The Israeli team announced today (Friday) the squad for the upcoming friendly match against Montenegro (5.6) and Portugal (9.6).

Hoffenheim striker Mons Dabour took part in all of the team's training this week at the team house in Shefayim, but will not be part of the squad.

Team coach Willy Rotensteiner spoke with Dabour throughout the training week and also at the end of training this morning, and decided that in the current situation the player could not contribute to the team as expected of any player on the roster.

Dabour clarified that the events of the recent period do not allow him to concentrate 100 percent on the team's professional challenges and as someone who is always 100 percent committed to the team, he deserves to be replaced by other players this time.

Dabour: "I have no intention of retiring from the Israeli team and I made this clear in the honest conversations I had with the coach and the chairman of the association. All I need now, and maybe not just me, is a time-out to let the spirits relax, hoping and believing that time will allow us all to return to football, for the national team and for coexistence. I am part of the Israeli team and will continue to be a player of the Israeli team. I tried to explain in a post that came from the heart and had no intention of hurting anyone, but the circumstances made listening and understanding impossible. I have always believed in coexistence, I have always worked for unity and partnership, and I will continue to do so. I have been playing abroad for 8 years and I have brought great respect to the country. The Israeli team now needs players who can only concentrate on the upcoming games, even if they are friendly games, and my situation is different. "Coexistence and partnership, and I want to thank them. I thank Willy for understanding me and Liu."R. The Association for Listening and Believing that this team must belong to everyone. My teammates are important to me and will continue to be so, I will keep my fingers crossed for them this time as well. Together we will find the way to maintain coexistence in order to realize the mission of us all. "

Association chairman Oren Hasson: "I met at length with Davor, for an honest heart-to-heart conversation and I appreciate his commitment to the Israeli team and the right to represent it and the country.

The last period has been complex for all of us and it is clear to me that it cannot and should not be ignored.

Team players, perhaps more than any athlete, must take into account the possible consequences of any statement initiated by them.

Dabour was brave enough to explain things immediately after they were published.

The Israeli team has for decades been composed of a mosaic of players from different religions and reflects the company and the country it represents.

It is the duty of all of us, and first and foremost mine, is to make sure that this continues to be the case.

"Every crisis is an opportunity to emerge stronger, more united, more tolerant."

Rotensteiner: "Dabour made it clear that he cannot concentrate 100 percent at the moment on the team's goals. As a true professional, who has contributed a lot to the team he knows what a team player needs, and once he has come to the honest conclusion that he is not completely available for the team. ".
