Brentford FC has been promoted to the English Premier League for the first time.

The team of the Danish coach Thomas Frank prevailed in the playoff final against the former first division club Swansea City in front of 11,689 spectators at London's Wembley Stadium with 2-0 (2-0).

The goals for the team from West London were scored by Ivan Toney (10th minute) and Emiliano Marcondes (20th).

In the 65th minute, Swansea's Jay Fulton saw the red card for a tackle from behind.

The rise brings the club income equivalent to almost 200 million euros in the Premier League, as the news agency Reuters writes.

In the Premier League, the teams collect horrific sums of TV money, the league only earns 1.7 billion euros per season from television income.

No other league is taking in more TV money.

That's why the playoff final of the English second division is also considered the most valuable game in club football.

Failed in the playoffs nine times

Brentford is back in the top English league for the first time since 1947, the Premier League has existed since 1992. Since 1991 Brentford had missed promotion nine times in the playoffs, last year only in the final due to a defeat against Fulham.

Previously, Norwich City with its German coach Daniel Farke and Watford FC had made the lucrative promotion perfect.

The German U21 international Vitaly Janelt was in the starting line-up and was replaced shortly after a yellow card in the 74th minute.

The midfielder is in Stefan Kuntz's EM squad for the knockout phase of the German U21 juniors.

The offspring of the German Football Association will meet Denmark in the quarter-finals on Monday.

Janelt is traveling to.
