Dorfen - The ESC Dorfen has found what it is looking for top-class reinforcement.
The Bayern league team has signed the Slovenian professional Gasper Susanj.
He last played at the French premier league club Chamonix.
In the ice pirate camp one speaks of a "transfer hammer".
The 32-year-old defender can look back on an impressive ice hockey career.
With his hometown club HD Mladi Jesenice he was two Slovenian champions.
He completed 109 games in the EBEL (1st division Austria) and 253 games in the Ligue Magnus (France) with a remarkable 102 points.
From 124 games in the Slovenian league there are 44 points to book.
Susanj wants to contribute his experience to the young defenders of the ESC.
He should also be involved in the youth work.
These possibilities, which ESC trainer Franz Steer explained to him in a long phone call, as well as the proximity to his hometown Jesenice, which he can reach in around three and a half hours by car, were, as it is said, the main reasons for his move to Dorfen, although also Offers from France and the Alpine League were submitted.
In Dorfen, the Slovenian moves into a small apartment in the residential hotel area "Appartement4you". His wife and daughter stay at home in Jesenice. Gasper will wear the number 28 in the Eispiraten jersey.
