If the final opposed two English clubs, the English press obviously chose to congratulate Thomas Tuchel's men, who were able to stand up to those of Pep Guardiola to win the final.

On the one across the Channel, the two German compatriots Kai Havertz and Thomas Tuchel, the first scoring his first goal so important in the competition, the second having revolutionized Chelsea since his arrival.

Kai Havertz hailed by the English tabloids

The image of the young German sticking out his tongue after his goal which will offer the title to the Blues is obviously that of all. The Daily Express has fun with the lone scorer's last name: "Hav a little bit of that", Hav 'referring to Kai Havertz's last name. The daily added in the subtitle "The Blues beat Pep again", for the third in a month (after beating City 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Cup and 1-2 in the Premier League). The Daily Star also goes there with its pun on the name of Kai Havertz with "To Hav and to hold", also in reference to the goal arrived in the 42nd minute, offering a lead that Tuchel's men have been able to keep.

The Spanish press split between Azpilicueta and Pep

If the Madrid daily AS and the Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo highlight Chelsea's performance, they also recall Guardiola's failure in the Champions League final.

The two dailies also salute the performance of Cesar Azpilicueta, the first Spanish captain to win the Champions League with a foreign club.

He is also the one chosen to illustrate this performance at AS, Mundo Deportivo and Marca.

The Catalan daily Sport decided to make it its headline, with a photo of Pep Guardiola passing in front of the cup while looking down, capturing: "Guardiola remains without the Champions League, she resists him".

Recalling that: “Pep, who won three Champions League with Barça, did not achieve this goal in another European club.

“All this while a rumor in Catalonia announced his potential return to Barça in case of victory in the Champions League.

Something that the main party had denied at a press conference.
