  • Formula 1 *: The Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Sunday, 2 p.m.

  • Sebastian Vettel is aiming for the next World Cup points in Baku, Mick Schumacher wants to make amends.

  • Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton deliver a close World Cup duel.

We accompany the race weekend in Azerbaijan in the live ticker.

Baku - Formula 1 * is more exciting than it has been in a long time.

A bitter duel between the two dominators Max Verstappen and world champion Lewis Hamilton has broken out at the top.

The sixth race of the season in Baku * heralds the next round.

Monaco winner Verstappen is in the lead in the World Cup standings for the first time and is four points ahead of the Briton.

Sebastian Vettel * does not play a role in the World Cup fight, but the Heppenheimer wants to continue his upward trend at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Vettel has fond memories of the street circuit.

Buddy Mick Schumacher * is also planning the next progress in his debut year and is hoping for a surprise.

"We want to take our momentum," said Vettel.

In Baku, Vettel was at least fourth in each of the four attempts so far - that almost screams for the next successful Sunday.

In Monaco he was finally voted driver of the day, and with fifth place he scored his first points for Aston Martin.

It will certainly not be easy.

Because the course in the Principality was completely different two weeks ago.

Although there is a similarly slow passage in Azerbaijan's capital, the route also has long straights that require a lot of engine power and a perfect set-up.

"There is no room for error here," said Vettel.

“I hope we can continue this trend.

It's a very challenging course, ”said the four-time world champion.

In contrast to Vettel, Mick Schumacher * is still without a point.

After all, the rookie has always brought his racing car from the US Haas team to the finish line in the five races of the season.

A difficult task also awaits on the street circuit in Baku.

"I'm looking forward to the weekend.

Hopefully we can fight with Williams and Alfa, ”said Schumacher.

More than placement battles with the backbenchers shouldn't be in his defeated car again.

But it should go better than in Monaco.

After two training accidents, he initially missed the qualification.

Because of problems with the fuel pressure, he had to let his team-mate Nikita Mazepin pass again after an overtaking maneuver - and then couldn't get past, although he was significantly faster.

"We took a good look at it and saw what we can improve," said Schumacher.

I've already learned a lot from him.

In order for that to work, the 22-year-old tried to talk to Vettel again. "I've already learned a lot from him and I hope that I can learn a lot more from him," said Schumacher during a media talk about the relationship with the second German driver. “It's just nice to talk to him about general things.” The rookie said that you could rely on someone, “who only wants the best for me”, that gives him “a good feeling”.

Both pilots have had a close relationship for years.

That hasn't changed since they started racing against each other on the track.

"That can work if you invest the time," said Mick.

His father Michael Schumacher * was once Vettel's childhood idol.

The two can be seen together again and again and exchange ideas regularly.

"I enjoy it," said Schumacher.

Mick is on his own on the route and has to prove that he has what it takes to follow in his father's footsteps.

The next chance to do this is in Baku.
