Syria's basketball team beat Russia's youth team 85-77 points in a friendly match that was held today at Kopark in Moscow, in preparation for the third window of the Asian qualifiers to be held in the Jordanian capital Amman on the twelfth of this month.
The result of the first quarter resulted in the benefit of the Russian team by 20-12, while the remaining three quarters came in the interest of our team with 26-19, 21-15 and 26-23, respectively.
The best scorers in the squad were Rami Morjana 20 points, Camille Jumblatt 20 points, Douglas Hering 18 points, Amer Al Sati 8 points and Tawfiq Saleh 8 points.
This is the second time that our team has won against Russia's youth team, with the same result, and it was clear the good technical performance of our players, who presented wonderful offensive and defensive glimpses.
It is noteworthy that our team has so far played five friendly matches in the closed training camp currently held in Moscow, and before that in Kazan, it won four and lost one, two wins against the Russian youth team, two wins against the Volga Academy team and one loss from the Volga.
