For the first time since 2016, the footballers of FC Bayern have finished a Bundesliga season in first place. For world and European champion Simone Laudehr it is the first national title at the end of her career.

She is world champion, European champion, Olympic champion, only the championship trophy is missing for Simone Laudehr in her impressive collection.

“I've been working towards this since I was 17 years old.

I've always finished second, "said the 34-year-old before her last game with FC Bayern Munich.

She was runner-up six times, to be precise.

Laudehr even knows the pitfalls of one last day of the match: in 2014 they were intercepted with 1. FFC Frankfurt.

It didn't come that far in the long-distance duel with defending champion VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday. The Bayern women were too strong in the course of the season, a draw would have been enough with a two point lead and a significantly better goal difference. In the end it was 4-0 (2-0) for Munich against Eintracht Frankfurt. Linda Dallmann (17th minute, 25th) and Lea Schüller (90th) secured the fourth championship with their goals after 1976, 2015 and 2016. Frankfurt's Laura Störzel made an own goal in the 54th minute. 15 minutes before the end, midfielder Laudehr came on for the party on the pitch.

Followers Wolfsburg also got off to a flying start against Werder Bremen, after goals from Pia-Sophie Wolter (2nd), an own goal by Bremen's Reena Wichmann (19th) and goals from Ewa Pajor (23rd, 25th). and Ingrid Syrstad Engen (42.) 5: 0.

But also the other hits by Zsanett Jakabfi (55th), again Pajor (68th) and Shanice van de Sanden (79th) to the 8-0 final result didn't change the two points behind the leaders.

Almost like a world title

There will be no big celebrations in Munich.

The corona requirements prohibit it.

However, 150 fans were allowed in the stadium on the Bayern campus.

Most of them probably came from around Laudehr, who came to FC Bayern as a 17-year-old, then played for FCR Duisburg and 1. FFC Frankfurt before returning to Munich in 2016.

They now have a lot to celebrate there, but Laudehr said before the game: "This title would take my place shortly after the World Cup."
