London - The final of the European Championship 2021 will take place in the capital of Great Britain on July 11, 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are numerous corona rules for fans to observe this year.

These vary from country to country.

Corona rules during the EM 2021: venues, contact restrictions and mask requirement

The EM 2021 will be held in eleven countries:

  • Azerbaijan, Baku (National Stadium)

  • Denmark, Copenhagen (Parking Stadium)

  • Germany, Munich (Allianz Arena)

  • England, London (Wembley Stadium)

  • Holland, Amsterdam (Johan Cruyff Arena)

  • Italy, Rome (Stadio Olimpico)

  • Romania, Bucharest (Arena Nationala)

  • Russia, St. Petersburg (Krestovsky Stadium)

  • Scotland, Glasgow (Hampden Park)

  • Spain, Seville (Olympic Stadium)

  • Hungary, Budapest (Puskás Aréna)

Seville replaces Bilbao as the new host city.

Four games will take place there.

Ireland is no longer a host country.

The games scheduled there will instead take place in Russia and England.

The corona rules, which are shared by all of these venues, are the common hygiene and distance regulations.

Masks are required in and around the stadiums.

A minimum distance of 1.50 meters must be maintained and close contact with other fans, such as shaking hands, hugging or clapping, must be avoided.

Sufficient disinfectant is provided in the stadiums.

Each visitor is only allowed to use the seat indicated on the card and movement should be avoided as much as possible during the break.

Signs and arrows show directions.

Corona rules at the entrance - number of visitors, compulsory testing, vaccination

Each ticket holder is given a 30-minute time slot to enter the stadium.

The number of visitors allowed varies in the individual host cities of the 2021 European Championship. Only in Budapest is the stadium to be played in front of a full stadium.

The decision about the capacities is made taking into account factors, which include:

  • Prospect of an improved health situation

  • Vaccination situation in the respective region

  • Plans to reopen

  • the expected decrease in the spread of the virus due to warmer temperatures

In Baku and St. Petersburg, it is planned to fill around half of the seats.

In Copenhagen it is around 45 percent and in the other seven cities the occupancy rate fluctuates between around 22 and 32 percent.

The corona rules state that a negative corona test must be presented when entering most stadiums.

In St. Petersburg this proof must be in English or Russian, the temperature is also measured at the entrance and gloves must be worn.

Gloves in addition to the mask are also desired in Rome.

In Budapest, Hungarian fans need the immunity card - a PCR test is not enough for them, but it is for international fans.

There is no compulsory test in Baku.

Anyone who can show proof of vaccination or proof of immunity in Budapest, Bucharest or Copenhagen is exempt from the obligation to test.

Corona rules for entry during EM 2021

The entry requirements are constantly changing.

Different restrictions also apply to different countries of origin.

In general, no exceptions will be made for ticket holders for the EM 2021 with regard to quarantine regulations and entry restrictions.

However, some hosts have announced exceptions: Budapest releases international fans from the obligation to quarantine.

In Bucharest, too, there is no quarantine requirement if a negative test is presented and a stay of less than three days.

Baku allows viewers from Turkey, Switzerland and Great Britain as well as from the country of origin of the quarter-finalists of the EM 2021 to enter.

The quarantine obligation does not apply if a negative test is presented.

It is advisable to inform yourself regularly about the latest version of the Corona rules, as no precise predictions can be made. UEFA works closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure a fun European Championship experience that is also concerned with the safety of teams and fans.
