Cruel end of the season for Charles Ollivon.
The captain of the XV of France and third row of RC Toulon, very good with the Blues during the last Six Nations Tournament, was severely injured this Saturday, June 5 during the last Rugby Top 14 match with his club.
In the 15th minute of the clash against Castres Olympique, the player twisted his knee on a change of support.
He limped out and we immediately feared the worst when we saw him hold his head in his hands, supported by a teammate.
His club confirmed it on Monday: medical examinations revealed "a rupture of the cruciate ligament of the left knee", indicated the RCT, which specifies that Charles Ollivon "will have to undergo a surgical operation".
A blow when Toulon was sharply eliminated from the finals of the Top 14 after its defeat against CO (46-24).
At the time of its captain's injury, Toulon was leading 10-0.

Eliminated from the finals of the Top 14, Ollivon could have consoled himself by preparing for the tour of the XV of France in Australia (three games against the Wallabies on July 7, 13 and 17).
The Blues of Fabien Galthié should fly away, without the Top 14 finalists, after the semi-finals, on June 20.
Charles Ollivon could have supervised this reshuffled group in a tour that promises to be difficult.
Instead, he will be recovering from his knee surgery which is expected to take place in the next few days.
The duration of his unavailability has not been specified.
But, in general, it takes about six months of absence for a cruciate ligament operation of the knee.
