The 2021 World Judo Championships continued today (Monday) in Budapest, Hungary with the highlight so far being Geffen Primo winning the bronze medal in the up to 52 kg category. The championship is the last competition before the Olympics and is of great importance in terms of ranking points. Hungary has 14 athletes.

The outstanding judoka defeated Diora Kaldiorova from Uzbekistan and won the bronze medal.
This is Israel's 11th medal at the World Championships and the first female medal since Jordan Jerby's silver in 2014 and of course Geffen's record achievement after two bronze medals at the European Championships, one in 2018 and one this year.
Primo's opponent received three penalties, which gave the Israeli the advantage and ultimately the victory and the prestigious medal.
Earlier, Primo won her first fight, defeating a Mexican opponent in the second round.
In the quarterfinals, a Brazilian opponent won, and in the quarterfinals, she was stopped by a Swiss woman and dropped out of the consolation house, where she defeated a Mongolian opponent on the way to the direct battle for the bronze - Mol.
