The second stage of The Ocean Race Europe Cascaïs-Alicante delivered its verdict this Wednesday morning. And it was the Vor 65 skipper by Yoann Richomme (Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team) who was the first to cross the line this morning at 5.40 am. The fleet of Imoca, the Vendée Globe boats, led by Thomas Rettant (LinkedOut) is still in the race. Happy with the victory, Yoann Richomme, former winner of the Solitaire, said at the finish: “It's a great victory for the whole team and a great revenge after the first stage which unfortunately turned out badly when we were on your mind. We started to show that we had good form, a crew with a lot of capacity and this morning we confirmed. We started the round very well since under spinnaker we are going very quickly.South of Portugal we had a good lead of 7-8 miles. Alas, we lost everything before crossing the Strait of Gibraltar. There was great determination on the part of the crew who fought for almost 3 days to gradually recover the deficit and manage to pass Akzonobel yesterday afternoon. It's a great victory and I'm very proud of the Mirpuri Foundation crew. It's not bad for the future ... "
