The Italian national team started its campaign in the 16th edition of the European Football Championship "Euro 2020" with a broad victory over its Turkish counterpart 3-0 in the opening match that brought them together today.
Italy advanced with a goal scored by Turkish defender Merig Demiral in the 53rd minute with an own goal, and Italian striker Ciro Immobile doubled the score by the 66th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Italian striker Lorenzo Insigne concluded the three-goal for the hosts in the 79th minute of the match, which was held at the “Olympico” stadium in the capital, Rome.
With this victory, the Italian national team won the three match points and topped the first group standings for the European Football Championship “Euro 2020” postponed from last year due to the Corona pandemic.
