The team spirit always plays a role

The district league club SVA Palzing is preparing for the official start of training.

- Finally playing football together again, meeting and talking to each other - the district league table footballers of SVA Palzing have been back on the training ground for two weeks.

With everything that goes with it.

“The social aspect is very important,” says trainer Sepp Summerer.

And further: "Looking each other in the eye is something completely different than sitting across from your laptop." He emphasized this again and again during the corona-related break.

It seems as if being with his players is more important to the 65-year-old than the fact that the newcomer has kept the class.

It's not quite like that, but team cohesion plays a bigger role with the Palzingers than with some of the competitors from the District League North. This team spirit is one of the strengths and secured points for the team last season. Summerer encourages this sense of community. In the first training units he did not give instructions. “Of course there is great ambition and euphoria, but we still trained without a focus. But it was more important to see each other again, ”says Summerer. A bit of coordination paired with technique exercises and goal closure, plus final games - that was all that was up to now.

That will change in the next week.

Then the official start of preparation is planned.

The SVA coach must then proceed cautiously, because the bodies of his players have to get used to the stress again.

“You noticed that in the final games of the previous training units.

That's when the boys felt their tendons and ligaments, ”reports Summerer.

After the departure of Markus Weinbacher, who will be absent as a striker and assistant coach, the position of assistant coach is still vacant - at least officially.

“Thomas Eckmüller has coaching experience and Marcel Radlmaier can also take on responsibility.

When I'm not there, they lead the training, ”says Summerer.

Three new additions

The Ampertaler will start the season with three new players, Jakob Rott being only half an entry. The 20-year-old comes from his own offspring and was part of the second team's squad last season. “Jakob plays on the offensive and is carefree. He doesn't give a shit, ”says Summerer. The two strikers Kim-Marco Peter (27) and Ivan Rakonic are also new. Peter comes from TSV Allershausen with the recommendation of 92 goals in 107 league games from the C-class to the district league. “Kim knows where the gate is. He has all the equipment a striker needs - no matter what league he plays in, ”says Summerer.

Rakonic comes from TSV Jetzendorf, for whom he scored a goal in 14 regional league games last season. The storm talent received its fine-tuning in the offspring of SE Freising. “Ivan is young, but has experience. I had him in focus a year ago, but then he moved to Jetzendorf. It's nice that it worked now, ”says Summerer. The additions are offset by the departures of Weinbacher and Niklas Reuter.

While Weinbacher initially signed in Schweitenkirchen, but then changed his mind, Reuter's new club is certain: The offensive player is moving to his home club SGE Eichenfeld-Freising. "Niklas was always close to the first team, but injuries or vacationers threw him back," says Summerer. Three new ones, two departures - a major reorganization of the Palzingern team did not take place this summer either. That can only be good for the cohesion in the team.
