In an interview with SANA’s sports reporter, Najjar indicated that he learned swimming at an early age, but mastered it as a professional at the age of 14, after which he began participating in the governorate’s championships and was always ranked first, which qualified him to participate in the Republic’s championships with the Hama national team, where he was present three times and performed well. And he achieved third place in the Republic Championship in Damascus in 2017.

Najjar indicated that the main problem that Hama swimmers suffer from is the lack of a closed swimming pool, so they do not train during the winter, which affects their physical fitness and thus negatively affects their participation in the championships of the Republic. However, they compete for the titles of several races, pointing to the presence of high-level coaches and there Interest and follow-up by those involved in the game Hama, but the potential is modest.

Najjar explained that he trains continuously throughout the summer to maintain his physical fitness and to benefit from the experiences of distinguished coaches and to be ready to participate in any local championship, pointing out that his ambition is to develop his skills and abilities to join the ranks of the national team, participate in external tournaments and achieve positive results.

The Hama national team player pointed out that the superior swimmer needs fitness, speed and muscular structure, and height is an important factor for excellence because it helps him to succeed, indicating that he has not undergone training courses previously, so he will participate in any future training course, whether in qualifying swimming or rescue coaches.

For his part, coach Imad El-Din Orfali indicated that the player Ahmed Al-Najjar has a high talent that qualifies him to be a distinguished swimmer and has a promising future if he continues his training, adding... His insistence on committing to the training in all circumstances and times is an important factor in developing his skills and abilities.
