The Special Olympics in Homs resumed the training of its sports teams after a hiatus of more than a year due to the conditions imposed by the Corona pandemic, in preparation for the upcoming benefits.
Ibrahim Ibrahim, the supervisor of the Special Olympics in Homs, said in a statement to the SANA Newsletter that the training was launched recently and is currently being held at a rate of two training sessions per week in the badminton hall in the municipal stadium for weightlifting, physical strength, badminton, gymnastics, athletics, bocce and swimming, under the supervision of a group of qualified coaches.
Ibrahim pointed out that the Foundation seeks to develop the reality of existing games and introduce new games during the coming period.
It is noteworthy that the Homs Special Olympics was established in 2000, and the number of players currently affiliated with the teams is about 100 male and female players.
