After the collapse of the Danish national soccer player Christian Eriksen during the European Championship group game against Finland, wishes for well-being come from the world of soccer - and beyond.
The President of the European Football Association (Uefa),
Aleksander Čeferin
, said: »Moments like these put everything in life into perspective.
I wish Christian a complete and quick recovery. "
Eriksen had collapsed at the game and was taken to the hospital.
The game was interrupted because of the "medical emergency", as the Uefa announced.
Uefa later announced that the 29-year-old was stabilized.
According to the Danish Association, Eriksen is "awake".
Federal President
Frank-Walter Steinmeier
reacted with dismay to the collapse.
Steinmeier is currently on a visit to Denmark and saw the incident on television on Saturday evening at his hotel in Kolding, immediately before meeting Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
The Danish delegation was shocked by the incident.
Mette Frederiksen
asked for understanding that the delegation would be kept up to date at all times.
The Finnish Prime Minister
Sanna Marin
, who had recently posted a photo of herself in a jersey, wrote on Twitter: "Our thoughts are now with Christian Eriksen." She put up a heart and a Denmark flag.
The German national soccer team also joined the many affected posts in the social networks.
The
DFB team
tweeted a group photo in which they posed in front of a photo projected on a screen.
"Our thoughts are with you and we wish you a speedy recovery," it said.
Portugal's superstar
Cristiano Ronaldo
, who will start the tournament with his team on Tuesday, tweeted: “The world of football is united and is hoping for good news.
I expect to see you back on the field soon, Chris!
Stay strong! «Eriksen's team-mate at Inter Milan,
Lautaro Martínez
, wrote after the terrible TV pictures on Instagram» Come on Chris!
Please Chris «and put a picture together.
The game later resumed after the Danish players found out personally about the condition of their teammate, as
Peter
Møller
, the football director of the Danish association, told Danish broadcaster DR.
