Paris Basket took advantage of Blois' defeat against Nancy 112 to 97 this Sunday, early in the evening, in ProB, to mathematically ensure its rise in the Elite, the French first division, only three years after its creation.
The Parisians had finished their regular season on Friday night with a victory at Lille 92 to 70, and were waiting for a misstep from Blois in their last four matches to climb to the Elite.
Paris Basket thus joins the Elite, just like Fos-sur-Mer, which had already secured the first place in ProB.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Basketball League had given up on the organization of a final phase in ProB, and the first two of the regular season get the ticket for the upper division.
The Parisian club, founded in 2018, had been able to leave ProB for the 2018/19 season, by taking over the structure (and the debt) of Hyères-Toulon, which had found itself in bankruptcy.
Paris Basket will evolve next season in Elite at the Halle Carpentier, before taking up its quarters at the Arena de la Porte de la Chapelle, an 8,000-seat hall built for the 2024 Olympic Games, whose delivery is scheduled for summer 2023 .
