The Czech Barbora Krejčíková became the first tennis player since the French Mary Pierce to win the "double" at the French Open in 2000.

One day after her surprising single triumph, the 25-year-old also prevailed on Sunday in doubles alongside her partner Kateřina Siniaková.

In the final they defeated the US-American-Polish doubles Bethanie Mattek-Sands / Iga Świątek 6: 4, 6: 2 and repeated their triumph of 2018. In the singles, Krejčíková had the Russian Anastasia Pawljutschenkowa 6: 1, 2: 6 on Saturday , 6: 4 down and became the first Czech woman to triumph since Hana Mandlíková in 1981, who at that time was still flying the flag of Czechoslovakia.
