The Republic Cup Boxing Championship for men, which was held by the Game Federation in Al-Galaa Sports City, was concluded with the participation of 62 players who represented most of the governorates, police, army and students bodies.
The weights championship was won by Ward Ali, Hussain Al-Masry, Muhammad Khair Mistat, Laith Miglaj, Ahmed Ghosoun, Yahya Taha and Aladdin Ghosoun with weights 49, 52, 64, 69, 75, 81 and 91 kg, while Quneitra player Mohamed Arnab won with a weight of 56 kg and Ahmed Sariya with a weight of over 91 kg.
In a statement to the SANA representative, the Secretary of the Boxing Federation, Mahmoud Salloum, drew attention to the strength of the competitions that the tournament witnessed in all the fights, which amounted to 52 fights, in addition to the impressive skill levels presented by the players.
During its participation in the tournament, the Suwayda boxing team won a silver and a bronze medal, where the silver came from Hayyan Al-Ghajari, with a weight of 52 kg, and the bronze for player Samer Zain Al-Din, with a weight of 60 kg.
Malek Darwish, a member of the Boxing Technical Committee in As-Suwayda, indicated that the achieved results were good and the players were able to achieve better results, pointing out that the tournament achieved organizational and arbitration success.
