The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced the injury of 31 players and members of the teams participating in the Copa America soccer tournament.
And the ministry said in a statement on its official website: “31 players came as a result of their positive tests for the Corona virus on the first day of the continental championship, in which the ten South American countries participate.”
Health Minister Marcelo Quiroga told reporters that there were 10 more cases among workers in hotels staying for delegations in Brasilia.
Brazil was chosen to host the tournament after Colombia was excluded after a wave of civil unrest and Argentina, its co-host, withdrew due to the high cases of Corona.
