French international Paul Pogba removed a bottle from the Heineken brewery that had been placed in front of him during a press conference at the European Football Championship on Tuesday.
A video shows how Pogba, who is a practicing Muslim, puts away the EM beverage partner's bottle after he sat down to answer questions about France's 1-0 victory over Germany.
As can be seen in the video, it was a bottle of non-alcoholic beer.
An answer to the request from the Reuters news agency to the brewery is still pending.
Heineken is a sponsor of the EM.
Ronaldo called for water to be consumed
The day before, Portugal's soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo had removed coke bottles from the podium at a press conference before the start of the European Championship.
After the five-time world footballer had put the bottles aside, he held up a water bottle and clearly called out to drink water with the word "Agua".
The beverage manufacturer is a sponsor of Uefa.
