The Egyptian federation wants Liverpool to release Mohamed Salah to participate in the Olympics this summer. The club has not yet donated

Mohamed Salah will he participate in the Tokyo Olympics this summer?

This is the question also posed by the Egyptian Federation.

Liverpool do not seem to want to release their player who could then miss the pre-season but also the start of the Premier League season (August 14).

Indeed, the Olympic Games take place from July 23 to August 8.

Egypt can select three players over 23 to take part in the competition and have decided to include Mohamed Salah (who turned 29 yesterday), without Liverpool's agreement, the Mirror reports.

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is also on the list.

Egyptian federation awaits response from Liverpool

The EFA (Egyptian Football Association), tries one last blow to give way to the Reds.

Federation director Ahmed Megahed said on OnTimeSports on Sunday, as quoted by Goal.com.

"His position is not yet clear, we will try one last time to convince Liverpool to let him participate".

Already, last March, the Egyptian coach Shawky Gharib assured that Mo Salah wanted to participate in the competition "I have made it known publicly that I would like to have him with us during our Olympic campaign and he did not refuse, which means he also wants to play with us ”.

The Reds striker is the author of an excellent club season with 22 goals, the second leading scorer in the Premier League behind Harry Kane and his 23 goals. He was also nominated for the title of best player in the championship.
