The 24-year-old Normand has ambition and is counting on his team to roll in a victory that will allow him to win.

Everything rolls between Alpine and Esteban Ocon.

One can even say that between the subsidiary of Renault and the native pilot of Evreux, it is a love story.

Currently 12th in the standings one point from Fernando Alonso, his teammate, the young 24-year-old driver has agreed to a three-year contract extension.

With the performance requirements that go with it, for those who will be keen to perform well this weekend in the French Grand Prix.

"I am very, very happy to continue for a few years with the team," said Esteban Ocon at the microphone of Canal +.

I feel much better integrated than the first year.

I know who to count on, who to work with.

I know people are going to be with me through the tough times as well as the good times.

I can't wait for us to create new memories like we created last year in Bahrain with the podium and to make more and more of them.

I am very involved in the development of the car.

We are working hard to try to get a car that can fight, make top 5, climb on podiums quite frequently and win races.

Linked to Mercedes, Ocon has therefore clearly established its sporting future on the side of the French team, ex-Renault.

He will already be a teammate with the double 39-year-old Spanish world champion, who will still wear the blue-white-red colors during the year 2022. This extension therefore confirms the idea, for the moment, of 'a possible arrival of Pierre Gasly and a French double in a French car.

Currently at Alpha Tauri, the winner of Monza last year says it is not impossible for him to return to Red Bull, current leader of manufacturers.

Laurent Rossi, its president, also showed his satisfaction following the announcement: “I wanted to make sure that he is in our team as long as possible. It's a good shot, as they say. We built a performance bubble. We made sure that the team was really listening to his feedback. In doing so, it allowed him to give the full measure of his talent. With a two-time world champion teammate Fernando, he has shown he is consistently at least a level playing field, with the two posting similar times every weekend. Esteban has shown great consistency since the start of the season. "
