Frenkie de Jong did absolutely everything this Thursday in Amsterdam.
The FC Barcelona midfielder dominated his subject in the midfield against the Austrians.
As usual, he dictated the game of his team.
Whether it is with the ball to the feet, or with his passes, he has broken lines many times.
But his contribution was not only interesting from an organizational point of view.
He knew how to evolve perfectly with his colleagues in the middle, Wijnaldum and de Roon, and compensated well for their climbs.
He recovered a lot of balls, especially in the Austrian feet by winning physically.
His game without the ball was also a treat.
Matthijs de Ligt, serene
Back after missing the opening game against the Ukrainians (3-2 victory), he showed why he was so important in the defense of the Oranje.
If it did not particularly suffer in the face of sluggish Austrians, he was able to perfectly negotiate the few hot situations that the visitors obtained.
A brave header block (27th) and a sumptuous intervention on Baumgartner (29th), helped to show that he was the real boss of this Dutch defense.
His relationship with Blind and Vrij is really interesting even if sometimes he has to catch up with some of their wanderings.
Denzel Dumfries, tireless
The right piston again delivered a top-flight performance.
Already involved in the three goals of his team last Sunday against Ukraine, he again participated in two achievements of the Dutch against the Austrians.
It is he who causes the penalty after having taken speed David Alaba (11th).
He is still there on the back lightning of the Netherlands to offer a solution to Malen and register his second goal in as many matches in this Euro (67th, 2-0).
He still impressed with his volume of play and the repetition of his races.
A real athlete but with a real offensive flair.
Dumfries projected himself with intelligence and did not suffer defensively even if the two oppositions he experienced did not really test his skills in this area of play.

David Alaba, disappointing
A leading figure in Austrian football, David Alaba did not shine as much against the Netherlands as against the Macedonians last Sunday.
Leader of this team, he is guilty of the fault which causes a penalty and therefore the opening of the Dutch score.
Making a mistake does happen, especially when you're a defender, but he's never been reassuring or inspired.
He could have given Memphis a goal if the OL player had been more successful (24th).
It is again Alaba which covers Weghorst and which causes a very hot situation in its surface.
The Austrian binder, non-existent
Franco Fonda, the German coach of Austria, clearly did not succeed in instilling a certain idea of the game. The Austrians seemed to discover themselves, without any real game plan. Flaws that we had already seen in a smaller measure against North Macedonia but who, there, have not forgiven. Faced with an organized Dutch team, the individual quality alone of some players like Alaba or Sabitzer was not enough. There were very few movements and interesting sequences on the part of the visitors, which represent all the pitfalls in which the national selections can fall.
