Sergio Ramos' stage at Real Madrid has come to an end after 16 years.
He arrived at the Bernabéu in 2005 from Sevilla.
Today, at 35, the central defender says goodbye to Real Madrid.
He has not reached an agreement with the club for its renewal and this Thursday he participated in an institutional farewell ceremony that was attended by Florentino Pérez.
As he explained, when he finally accepted the club's offer, which lasted only one year when the footballer wanted two, the offer was no longer on the table: "I accepted the offer to renew, but it had an expiration date."
"One is never ready to say goodbye to Real Madrid, but the time has come," said the center-back, excited and with a broken voice.
And he added: "This more than a see you always is a see you later because sooner or later I will return."
The event was attended by his wife, Pilar Rubio, and their four children, their parents and his brother and representative, Nené Ramos.
Ramos' fate is currently unknown.
His little presence in the shop window, due to constant physical problems, has not helped him to vindicate his figure in full litigation with the entity.
Since January, he has hardly been seen on the pitch and at the last moment he was left out of the Eurocup.
