We are never better served than at home.
Especially when you're French and running at home.
Removed last year due to coronavirus, the French Grand Prix returns this weekend to the Paul-Ricard circuit in Castellet (Var).
The two French drivers in the running have shown their intentions with a positive result.
During the second free practice session on Friday, Ocon took 6th place and Gasly was 7th, behind Fernando Alonso's other Alpine who took an excellent 4th place.
It was also the occasion for Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) and Esteban Ocon (Alpine) to display a special and cockade decoration on their helmets.
For its part, the Alpine team, which already has one of the most beautiful cars on the grid, proudly displays the three colors of the French flag on the front wing of its A521 for the occasion.
Esteban Ocon chose to reproduce the blue-white-red on the top and back of his helmet.
With a complement that could not be more representative of the hexagon: a simplified and gilded Eiffel Tower which runs on the top of the skull.
The pilot from Alpine is however not Parisian but the symbol is strong.
Very happy to show you my @ GPFranceF1 special helmet which I will be wearing this week end đ top job by @BellRacingHQ as alwaysđ„ # EO31 #Chrome #sparkle pic.twitter.com/a5OhTENQTj

The native of Evreux clearly shows his attachment to his Team, with which he has just extended his contract for three seasons.

No monument, however, for Pierre Gasly for this 7th race of the season.
The French flag, on the other hand, is much more imposing and clearly delimited.
The 3rd of the recent Azerbaijani Grand Prix also highlights its number (10), as well as the triangle-shaped design logo that characterizes it.

Also to mark the blow aesthetically, the team of Viry-ChĂątillon for its part added the tricolor flag on its front wing, a reminder with the rear of its two single-seaters.
