Rapper Jul offers to compose an anthem for the Blues

The Marseille rapper says he is ready to write about the French football team. But the FFF should not ask him.

Not sure that this release will make smile on the side of the French Football Federation (FFF). In an interview with the Team, the Marseille rapper Jul says he is a candidate to compose an anthem for the France team. "Ah yes, yes, yes, he answers when asked if he would be interested in putting his sound and his words around the Blues. If I am asked, I will try. If it doesn't work, if they don't like it, too bad, but I'll try. It would be my pleasure. Blues ! Supporting them is normal. If someone calls me, I go rearing up. It may be unnecessary for the rapper. It seems highly unlikely that the federal side will pick up their phone and ask them to dial. We are not even talking about the very Marseille label of the rapper who could put off supporters of the Blues from other regions.

Especially since the FFF has just left the Youssoupha episode named after this other rapper who had composed an original song "Write my name in blue" to accompany the announcement of the list of 26 selected by Didier Deschamps for the Euro 2021.

Write my name in Blue,

Call out my name in Blue!

An initiative of the marketing department of the FFF from which Noël Le Graët, its president, had dissociated himself in our columns where he suggested that he had not been warned of this choice and that, in hollow, he did not endorse it.

In the process, a controversy on the merits of the choice of Youssoupha launched by political figures mainly from the ranks of the Republicans and, above all, the National Rally, had lasted several days. Visiting Clairefontaine before the start of the Euro, Emmanuel Macron had nevertheless refused to stigmatize this song. "What binds us is stronger than us, including among women and men with an immigrant background" explained the President of the Republic in particular. Noël Le Graët then added that for him, the only official anthem of the Blues was La Marseillaise.

Beyond these controversies, nothing prevents rapper Jul from singing what he wants around the theme of the Blues. Like Vegedream, another rapper who in the middle of the 2018 World Cup had composed the song "Bring the cup home". This title, taken regularly by the Blues themselves, after the matches, had become the unofficial anthem of the selection.
