With the participation of 41 sports clubs and homes, the Victory Championship for Karate Clubs and Sports Clubs for the age groups under 8, 10 and 12 years for males and females was concluded, which was held by the Game Federation in Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus.
Four clubs in the U-8 category achieved the same number of medals as Al-Sanamayn Police, Al-Sanamayn, Al-Shorta Central, and Aleppo Railways, while the Al-Sanamayn U-10 category won first place. Shaqqa Club from As-Suwayda won the U-12 category.
In a statement to SANA’s sports representative, the head of the Karate Federation, Jihad Mahmoud Mia, explained that this tournament comes within the framework of the central tournaments held by the Karate Federation every year, and it is one of the priorities of work because these categories are the basic building block for the game’s teams in the higher categories, adding that the tournament had the participation of It is a good indicator for expanding the base of the game at the governorate level, and the clubs’ interest in getting their players to the local podiums and from there to the international ones.
Mia indicated that the federation will have another stop with the distinguished from these categories by preparing them in an optimal manner and under the supervision of cadres specialized in the game because they are the hope of karate in the upcoming foreign tournaments.
Excellence in the tournament not only accompanied the players, but also went beyond it to the referee, who also excelled in all the matches, where the wisdom “Lulu Kalaji” explained that the arbitration proved its excellence, especially with the participation of the female element alongside other referees through the application of the international regulations approved in this aspect, noting that The intensity of arbitration in the central tournaments gives the referee more experience in his arbitration career to reach international tournaments. Just as the player aspires to raise his country's flag in the international podiums, the referee also seeks to develop his level through local tournaments, all the way to foreign tournaments, to represent national cadres in the best representation.
The enthusiasm of the first players motivated them to achieve more achievements, as a number of them expressed their willingness to participate in the upcoming tournaments to maintain their first positions and make more efforts in their upcoming preparations, especially that the Federation’s calendar is full of central tournaments with their ambition to be among the national team in the upcoming foreign tournaments.
