Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder has brought Munich into play as the venue for another European football match.
"It would be wise if Uefa had a plan B in their pockets," said Söder on Monday in Berlin.
"Munich is ready for anything," he added.
The background to the consideration is the spread of the Coronavirus variant Delta in Great Britain.
Among other things, both semi-finals and the final are to be played in London.
The fact that the final of the EM should take place there, of all places, has recently been criticized more and more.
Health Minister Jens Spahn had advised German fans not to travel to the island.
Because of the spread of the Delta variant there, travelers have to be in quarantine for two weeks upon arrival in Germany.
Söder also supports Munich's proposal that the arena be illuminated in rainbow colors during the Germany-Hungary game on Wednesday, a symbol against discrimination against same-sex groups.
"This is a signal that stands for the freedom of our society," said the CSU boss.
The special lighting is supposed to be a reaction to the policy of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
On Tuesday, the Hungarian parliament approved a law that restricts young people's right to information about homosexuality and transsexuality.
The law is a particular concern of Orbán.
