Euro 2021: a blonde discoloration for the English in case of title

2021-06-26T21:36:37.726Z

Phil Foden, who recently dyed his hair blonde, said his teammates would do the same if they won the competition

Blond for everyone.

But, only if the Three Lions win Euro 2021. "I told the team that if we win they will have to do the same haircut as me and they all agreed."

This is what Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden explained at TalkSport.

Many have been the comparisons with Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne who had dyed blond for Euro 1996. But, Foden specifies that the basic idea comes from his ex-teammate at City, Sergio Aguero.

"It was my own thing and then I saw people turn it into something else and I surfed on it like everyone else."

He admits all the same "it would not be bad if I tried to bring a little Gazza on the ground".

Also, he would like his teammates to do like the Romania team in the 1998 World Cup. The latter had been affected by a fever of blonde dye.

Author of a good season which allowed him to be selected by Gareth Southgate in his list of 26, Foden was voted best prospect in the Premier League at 21 years old.

But the debut of his team in this Euro is a bit difficult.

After a 1-0 victory against Croatia in their first match, the English were disappointed and neutralized by the Scottish neighbors (0-0).

Before thinking about a possible final, Foden and his teammates will need to redouble their efforts in a crucial game against the Czech Republic on Tuesday at 9 p.m. at Wembley. A home victory necessary to validate their ticket for the round of 16.
