American tennis legend Serena Williams announced today that she will not participate in the US team in the Tokyo Olympics.
In statements to reporters, Serena said, "Yes, indeed, I am out of the list of participants in the Tokyo Olympics, as far as I know."
The Tokyo Olympics, postponed from last year due to the Corona virus, will start on the 23rd of next July.
Williams played in the Olympics in 2000, 2008, 2012 and 2016, winning four gold medals in singles and doubles, but missed the 2004 Athens Olympics due to a knee injury.
It is noteworthy that Williams won 23 titles in the Grand Slam and is seeking to win the 24th title at Wimbledon.
