The loan from Bayern Munich's substitute goalkeeper Alexander Nübel to the top French soccer club AS Monaco is perfect, as FC Bayern confirmed.
The loan period is two years, but a return after a season is also possible through a contract option.
Head coach in Monaco is the former Frankfurt and Bayern coach Niko Kovač.
At the Monegasque goalkeeper Nübel is hoping for more match practice.
"I'm happy to be able to take the next step in my development at AS Monaco," said the goalkeeper.
"It's important to play at a high level, and I now have that opportunity in Monaco."
As a replacement for the 24-year-old, Sven Ulreich is returning to the record champions from the second division club Hamburger SV.
Accordingly, Bayern only agreed to the Nübel loan because Ulreich returned.
"This network solution is very charming, it helps everyone involved and fits into our financial framework, because Sven will return free of charge," said sports director Hasan Salihamidžić, and: "FC Bayern are planning to continue with Alexander Nübel for the future."
The 32-year-old Ulreich was already number two in the German record championship between 2015 and 2020 before he migrated to HSV in the second division before the previous season.
Ulreich prematurely terminated his contract with the North Germans after the missed promotion.
2020 came with great expectations
Nübel was in the summer of 2020 as a potential successor to Manuel Neuer in the Bayern and national team goal free of charge from Schalke to Munich.
He took over the role of Ulreich as Neuer's back-up, but so far has not gotten beyond it.
The commitment also caused resentment at Bayern, because Salihamidžić is said to have guaranteed him a minimum number of season games, but coach Hansi Flick (almost) always let new players play.
In the past season, Nübel only made four appearances.
The goalkeeper stood between the Munich posts twice in the Champions League and once in the Bundesliga and in the DFB Cup.
Nübel could start in the Champions League with Monaco.
The club reached third place in Ligue 1 under Kovač last season and is thus participating in the qualification for the premier class.
