Lloris, Hernandez, Griezmann, Kimpembe and Pavard all received a first round warning. A new yellow card would mean

Watch out for the suspension!

Five players of the France team are at the mercy of a warning, this Monday evening in the round of 16 of the Euro against Switzerland, synonymous with suspension for the next meeting.

They are Benjamin Pavard, Hugo Lloris, Lucas Hernandez, Antoine Griezmann and Presnel Kimpembe.

If during the first two games, the Blues had shown real discipline by not collecting any warning against Germany and only one in front of Hungary (Pavard), this was much less the case in the last match of Group F against Portugal (2-2).

Captain Hugo Lloris was first very close to expulsion by hitting the head of Parisian midfielder Danilo Pereira with his fist and elbow, following a free kick from Bernardo Silva.

Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz only warned the French goalkeeper and awarded the penalty for the Portuguese opener signed Cristiano Ronaldo.

In a bitter and rough meeting, three other tricolors, Hernandez, Griezmann and Kimpembe, also collected a yellow card.

Counters reset to zero after shifts

On the occasion of this round of 16 against Switzerland refereed by the Argentinian Fernando Rapallini, the five Blues will have to be vigilant in each action under penalty of not being able to play the quarter-final against Spain or the Croatia in Saint Petersburg, in case of qualification this Monday evening. Benjamin Pavard did not have a Damocles sword above his head against Portugal because he did not participate in the meeting. But the Bayern Munich side, as well as his three teammates, expected to start against Switzerland (Hernandez remains uncertain), will have to manage this difficult situation when you are a defender or defensive midfielder.

In a French defense already weakened with the injuries of Lucas Digne (elongation in the thigh) and Lucas Hernandez (knee), the Habs will need coolness and concentration to avoid further disaffection during a possible quarter-final, where these five Blues will always be under the threat of suspension in the event of a semi-final (against Italy, Belgium or Portugal). The counters will only be reset to zero at the end of the quarter-finals as in the Champions League.
