Although Viñales will continue racing with Yamaha until the end of the year, the resolution of the contractual agreement was sealed this past Friday in Assen, during a grand prix in which, curiously, the Catalan took pole and was one of the fastest riders in the world. Weekend.

This Sunday, he finished the race in second position and behind his boxing partner, Fabio Quartararo.

Since his arrival at Yamaha in 2017, Maverick Viñales has alternated great triumphs with major disappointments.

He debuted with two victories in Qatar and Argentina that first season with the house of tuning forks.

But he deflated quickly and never became a rival for Marc Márquez, who was identified as he was to give the alternative to Honda.

That irregularity has accompanied him ever since.

There have been complaints about the lack of grip, the low power of the M1 and how the bike does not allow it to get its full potential.

“Sadly, but we will say goodbye to Maverick at the end of the year.

The one in Germany was the most difficult weekend of our entire relationship.

We discussed it at Assen and came to the conclusion that it was best for both parties to part ways in the future, ”says Lin Jarvis, Yamaha MotoGP Team Principal.

And he adds: "As we have always done, we will give him all the support until the end of the season so that it ends in the best possible way."

Viñales is currently the sixth classified in the Motorcycle World Championship, 61 points behind Quartararo.

And he is looking for a team for next year, when there will be more Ducati than ever on the grid and a free Aprilia.
