Yaakov Shachar is still hungry: Maccabi Haifa's most expensive summer is a decade
The Greens already spent 3.25 million euros on procurement in June - the most since the summer after the previous championship - and for the first time ever in one month added two members to the million club.
The data show the desire of the 80-year-old president, as well as a reminder that in previous times the results did not match expectations

Immediately after the championship celebrations, Maccabi Haifa said that "Yaakov Shachar is still hungry."
The first championship after a decade only increased his desire to create a dynasty again and succeed in Europe as well, when according to sources around the club "Barak Bachar manages to drive him crazy".
The numbers also testify to this.
So true, Maccabi Haifa saved with parting from some of its top earners, but we only at the end of June and Shahar spent on purchases (purchases from other clubs, not free players) already 3.25 million euros, which is more than 12.5 million shekels.
And remember: the transfer window is open until September 14th.
Maybe the hand is still tilted.

The most expensive acquisition in the Premier League in the current window.

The champion has so far signed the two expensive window deals in the Premier League. Ali Muhammad is in the top, with Maccabi Haifa paying Betar Jerusalem 1.2 million euros for 80 percent of his ticket, followed by freshman acquisition David, which cost the Greens 1.1 million euros (and two other young players who moved to MS Ashdod). In addition, Maccabi Haifa spent 650 One thousand euros for half of the ticket of Uri Dahan, the brakeman who came from Kiryat Shmona, and another 300 thousand euros for right-back Ryan Strain who was bought from Adelaide United.
To what extent is this an exceptional event? And even then, as I recall, it happened after a championship and towards a Champions League campaign. This time the road to the home stage is much harder and the chance is slim, but the approach is the same.
The forgotten brakeman Yuritza Buliat was then the new member of the million club, and apart from him, Uriel Degani (900,000 euros), Chen Azriel (800), Yam Amasha (700), Alon Turgeman (450), Della Yampolsky (300) and even Itzik were also acquired. Cohen (150). A cumulative transfer fee of 4.3 million euros, which as I recall did not eventually lead to the championship (fifth place only) or the Champions League (loss in penalties to Aliniv Barda's Genk in the playoffs) but was enough to make an appearance in the Europa League home stage.
On the way to blowing the back of that summer from a decade ago, the stormy month of Maccabi Haifa left behind the summer of 2016/17, in which the Greens spent 2.75 million euros on procurement. So it was Roi Kehat (million euros), Nikita Rokavitsia (400,000), Iyad Abu Abid (400), Kamil Watsek (350), Gary Kegelmacher (350) and Omri Glazer (250) who were acquired one after the other. Even then, by the way, the result was disappointing with an early and embarrassing relegation from Europe, the loss of the trophy and only sixth place in the league.
Still the summer in which Maccabi Haifa spent the most money.
