Japan announced today that it will prevent the torch of the Summer Olympic Games "Tokyo 2021" from passing on public roads, for fear of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
The Japanese Kyodo news agency quoted the authorities in Tokyo as saying that "the torch will not pass through public roads in the capital, except for small areas, from July 9 to 16, in order to prevent the spread of the virus."
The Olympic torch was scheduled to pass through 46 Japanese prefectures at the time the country's state of emergency over the outbreak of the Corona virus ends on July 11.
It is noteworthy that Japan has postponed the Summer Olympics in Tokyo since last year 2020 due to the Corona pandemic, to be held this summer between July 23 and August 8 next.
