The Ukrainian national team has reached the quarter-finals of a European football championship for the first time.
In the 2: 1 (1: 1) success after extra time against Sweden, Oleksandr Zinchenko scored the first goal of the game (27th minute), shortly before the break Emil Forsberg equalized with a long shot (43rd).
Artem Dovbyk (120th + 1) made the decision.
Andrei Shevchenko's team will face England on Saturday.
It was evident early on that Ukraine, which qualified third in Group C for the round of the best 16 teams, was concentrating on defensive work.
Nevertheless, it was Roman Yaremchuk who came to the first conclusion of the game after Andriy Yarmolenko was dropped.
Robin Olsen parried (10th).
A popular means of both teams were long balls into the center of the storm.
But it was also artful: Yarmolenko missed the moment for the conclusion when pulling inwards, but then put his outside instep high on the other side of the penalty area, where Zinchenko, Manchester City's left-back, hit the right corner for the lead (27.)
The compensation also fell out of nowhere.
Forsberg's long-range shot was deflected by Zabarnyi in an unfortunate and untenable manner (43rd).
It was the fourth goal of the Leipzig tournament.
Forsberg: goal, post, crossbar
While the Swedes were always looking for Forsberg, the ball often landed on the other side at Yarmolenko.
The 31-year-old failed after the break on the outside post (55th).
Just a minute later, Forsberg did the same - and also hit the far right post.
Forsberg tried again, pulled in from the left in the 69th minute, left his opponent standing and the Ukrainian bar tremble.
The two teams were tired in extra time and several players had cramps.
Sweden's Marcus Danielson saw the red card after a foul (98.).
Ukraine knew how to exploit the majority late.
Artem Dovbyk headed in a flank and became a celebrated man (120th + 1).
