Tunisian Anas Jaber qualified today for the second round of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, by defeating Sweden's Rebecca Peterson in two sets to none.
Jaber, ranked 21st in the world, advanced over 60th ranked Peterson in two sets, 6/2 and 6/1, respectively.
Jaber is the first Arab player to win a title in the WTA Championships, by defeating Russian Daria Kasatkina in the Birmingham Championship final in two consecutive sets on the 20th of this month.
Jaber will face in the second round of the tournament in Britain American veteran Venus Williams, 41, ranked 111 in the world.
