Not only the Olympics beyond the horizon, but also the Paralympic Games, which kick off in Tokyo on August 14, after a year-long postponement due to the corona.

At a special event held at the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel, in the presence of the Minister of Sports, Hili Trooper, and the Ambassador of Japan to Israel, Koichi Mizushima, 30 athletes from the Israeli Paralympic delegation were presented, which is officially sponsored by Bank Hapoalim.

Following the presentation of the delegation, the Paralympic Committee was awarded the award to organizations and individuals who made significant contributions to the promotion of Paralympic sports in Israel.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Trooper said: "I am proud of the people who are here. You are our great pride and the real winners. You have overcome all obstacles on the way to the Olympics and I am sure you will succeed and bring a lot of respect to the country, as always."

The event was attended by Amit Oberkovich, Deputy CEO and Head of the Human Resources Division at Bank Hapoalim, who said: “Sport is inspiring in the way a variety of populations are expressed and reflects the values of achievement and excellence that match the Bank's values. The bank accompanies the athletes for over three years, with financial and mental support and gives them everything they need so that they can concentrate on their sporting goal and the representation of the State of Israel. "

Shmulik Daniel, a Paralympic rider in a single boat, sounded excited ahead of his departure for Tokyo: "When the Corona crisis came we did not know if there would be an Olympics, but in recent weeks the token that this is really going to happen is falling.

Simona Goren, a Paralympic rower, added: "We are in the last line, in a series of training camps in high adrenaline. This is my first time at the Olympics and a lot of exciting and challenging things are happening along the way. I hope to reach the podium."
