PSG: a transfer window of more than 200 million euros?

2021-07-01T23:15:31.959Z

As after the loss of the title in 2017, the club of the capital wants to achieve a flashy transfer window, while controlling the estimated budget

"This transfer window will be more active than the previous ones". PSG is in the process of fulfilling Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's promise, made on June 7 to L'Équipe. Open since June 9, the Parisian transfer window is already racing at arrivals. Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was the only official recruit. But we are able to confirm that the arrivals of Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi and Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will be announced in the coming days. As for the Sergio Ramos file, it should quickly find a way out, after the exchanges this Thursday between the brother and representative of the player and the Parisian leaders.

“In the past two years, we have not invested much, among other things because of the health crisis, added the president of PSG on June 7.

But we made a final and a half.

It shows that we are there.

Now, we still have to improve in certain positions.

We have targeted them, we know what we want to do.

“With four new recruits soon, including three without transfer allowances, Paris confirms its desire to renew the workforce in order to meet Mauricio Pochettino's demands.

We will have to sell ... a lot

And that may not be all. According to our information, when presenting its estimated budget to the DNCG (National and Management Directorate), the PSG counted on an ambitious business plan for the coming season (including the summer and winter mercatos ) by estimating its sales around 200 million euros for purchases ranging between 200 and 250 million euros. These figures have no binding value but demonstrate the Parisian ambitions to carry out an active transfer window, in both directions. In 2017, PSG presented a budget including 220 million purchases, two less than the clause paid to Barça for Neymar.

Regarding sales, the sum of 200 million euros questions and puts a certain pressure on the shoulders of the sporting direction of Leonardo. According to our information, PSG would not include a sale of Kylian Mbappé in this total. But, again, this does not presume the future of Bondy's prodigy as Paris cannot afford to openly announce a sale of its striker. If Mbappé was indeed not sold this summer, it would therefore be necessary to find buyers for half a dozen players at 30 million euros. Pablo Sarabia, Ander Herrera, Leandro Paredes, Idrissa Gueye, Thilo Kehrer, Abdou Diallo, Layvin Kurzawa… So many team members potentially concerned.
