Syria's table tennis team continues its training camp, which is currently being held in the Lebanese Intercontinental Club hall, in preparation for the upcoming events, especially the Tokyo Olympics, in which the team's player Hend Zaza will participate.

In a statement to SANA, the head of the Football Association, Bassam Khalil, explained that the federation had decided that Beirut would be the last stage of the preparations for the team, which is awaiting important benefits, and playing from the Lebanese team during the closed camp to increase the friction, especially since the Lebanese team has distinguished players and players in West Asia.

Khalil said that the training takes place on a daily basis in two shifts, morning and evening, at an average of three hours per session, under the supervision of coach Yamen Dandel and administrative member Diana Naous, pointing out that the team currently includes Hind Zaza, Aya Ali, Obaidah Zaza and Zaid Qatini.

And the president of the federation indicated that the closest and most important entitlement is the Tokyo Olympics, in which the player Hind Zaza will participate, and we have provided her with all the requirements for rehabilitation, preparation and care through the local camps in Lattakia, Hama, Damascus and the Foreign Ministry through a long training camp in Russia with the participation of the players Hind Zaza, Zina Asaad, Norman Ghazali and Obeida Zaza And the camp set up by the Asian Confederation in Qatar for the elite players of the continent and the players of the continent, in which Hind Zaza and Zina Asaad participated.

Khalil revealed that the local and foreign tournaments that will be held in the coming months will reveal a new generation in the ranks of the national team. After the Olympics, there is an Arab championship next August, followed by the Arab Club Championship, in addition to the Asian Championship at the beginning of September and the International Federation Championship in October, pointing out that the strategy that was developed To develop the reality of the game, a year and a half ago, it resulted in the emergence of distinguished players with good skill levels from the young age groups, who began to tread strongly in the tournaments.

Khalil continued: There are many game experts who drew attention to them, such as Obeida Zaza, who plays in the under-15 category and won the Republic Championship for the men’s category, and Ibaa Hallaq for 10 years, and she managed to qualify for the Republic Championship for women, noting that she achieved silver in the West Asian Championship last year within The Hope category is in addition to new names we can count on who have starred recently, most notably Salem Zaza, Muhammad Qabas and Shakib Maghout.

Khalil indicated that the Federation provides what is necessary to develop the level of players, whose number in the clubs has reached 5,000 players, stressing that the Federation's plan continues to advance the age groups because it is the main support for our national teams, and we will work to increase the spread of the game during the coming period in schools by working to adopt it within the games methodology to attract more promising materials.

It is noteworthy that Hind Zaza, 12 years old, is the youngest player in the world to qualify for the Olympic Games after her success in snatching the gold medal in the West Asian Championship.
