He returns to England.
Disembarking from Nice in December after two and a half seasons at the head of the Aiglons, Patrick Vieira was officially appointed coach of Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The London club announced, via a statement posted on social media, that the former midfielder had signed a three-year contract to lead a team which finished the last Premier League year in fourteenth place.
At 45, the world and European champion with the Blues will exercise for the first time in the elite of English football, where he lived his best hours of his career with Arsenal.
He took his first technical steps in 2013 at Manchester City, where he took charge of the reserve team at the club which saw him play his last season as a player (2010-2011).
He then moved across the Atlantic to coach New York City FC before joining Nice in 2018.
